A great first realization for iPerflex in the Gulf

Evolynx makes a remarkable breakthrough in Persian Gulf countries for its first export reference of new security system iPerflex. A subsidiary of Vinci in Saudi Arabia will deliver in 2012 on a turnkey basis the entire security infrastructure of the eight electricity supply stations spread in five countries.

Site GCCIA

Last September, iPerflex has been consecrated by his peers, winning the Innovation Award in the competition “Trophies of security” in France. In February, the GCCIA (Gulf Cooperation Council Interconnection Authority), manager of the electrical network of the Persian Gulf countries, chose the new version of site security system entirely based on Web 2.0 technology.

As Michel LE FAOU, Evolynx General Manager, says : “with iPerflex, we enter the world of “light customer”: no software to set up, any PC connected to the network can become an operator station through a simple browser as Explorer or Firefox and the implementation of Web 2.0 technologies now available.” This is an innovation in the market of security systems.

The second innovation is related with local controllers and field interfaces. “With iPerflex, adds Michel LE FAOU, we broke the traditional model using different types of e-cards, performing the local functions of control panels, door controls, etc., linked by more or less standardized bus computers networks. We designed a totally innovative hardware architecture based on a single type of card and several generic protocols.” The result is fewer cards and fewer cable lengths, reducing cost about 20 to 30%.

Close cooperation between Marseille and Saudi Arabia

By the end of 2012, iPerflex will be installed in the eight 400 kV electricity supply stations of GCCIA in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait and the UAE.

Furthermore, there are the interconnection to the existing optical fiber network between different sub-stations, electrical supply of the security system and some civil engineering works.

Development tool

This contract is a powerful tool for development in the country (4 of eight sub-stations are located in Saudi Arabia) and in the whole region. This iPerflex reference significantly expands our playground in infrastructure and in the various Gulf countries, with a well-known customer.
